The
Asteroid |
|
Without doubt, THE craziest Battletech terrain ever
created.
It occurred to me one day that the basic hex-based
shape could be expanded to form objects like a
volleyball,
whose shape this is based on. Believe it or not,
all the pieces fitted together smoothly but I had
to
use
eleven five-sided pieces to make it all fit together,
one of which you can see right in the middle.
This
five-sided 'hex' altered LOS for the mech in that
particular space (We also said that there was
no
Rear) but it wasn't a big problem.
Because the object was basically round we limited
LOS to the imaginary horizon, usually eight to ten
hexes away. Climbing on a hill naturally lengthened
your visibility.
The asteroid rotated on a central shaft. The mechs
were Plastech figures with strong magnets on their
feet and each of the hexes had a metal washer glued
to it.
This was another of the many terrains which I eventually
disposed of via eBay. I have no record of where
it went. |
